Admission Module

The EMS admission module has helped us streamline the admission process in a very intuitive manner, and the Fee management feature has made it easy for us to cater individual student.

Examination Module

EMS Examination module has made it easy for our students and teachers to understand and implement our learning goals and education policy. The online features have helped us take the scope of learning beyond classrooms and with a responsive interface the system can be accessed on any device. It also gives us access to learning statistics that help us make better decisions for our students to improve learning.

Finance Module

EMS Finance module controls all aspects of finance at our organization, brings international accounting standards to our system and ensures transparency.

Human Resource Management Module

The HRM module helps us monitor our staff performance system wide. HRM module ties staff incentives to their performance and discipline via state of the art performance indicators. This helps us maintain education standards on a whole new level.

INSTA Secure Cloud

In view of the current security situation in the country, we have implemented a RFID based security system that helps us log any person, at any time, at any of our facility countrywide. Our attendance sheet is also connected with the RFID system.

SMS Delivery Software

The SMS delivery software helps us manage system wide notifications through SMS with ease and it helps us convey messages to parents in a boundless manner.

Policy Information

School Quality Circles

At Al-Asr Schools, we believe that everyone should have a voice. Our School Quality Circles meetings involve all children. These groups are made up of children from class one to onwards and every child has an opportunity to share his or her thoughts and views.

Why have a School Quality Circle?

To help children develop responsible attitudes

To improve behavior

To create a feeling of belonging, encourage listening to others and develop self-confidence

To improve pupil/teacher relationships

To give children hands-on experience of curriculum issues including Citizenship

How does the Quality Circle work?

A teacher leads the meetings every month. Children are encouraged to listen to each other, respond to questions and share their ideas with the group.

Fee Policy

We do not charge for any of the resources or books that we use, however, from time to time there are additional charges where we require a contribution. Examples are:

Admission fee, monthly fee and any other type of submitted dues will not be refundable.

Monthly fee will be increased 10% annually

Annual Funds should be submitted on annual bases.

Dicipline Policy

A Discipline Policy or Code of Conduct that clearly states how learners and staff should behave characterizes the effective school. Discipline means changing the behavior of the child to be able to accept and subject herself to accepted school norms. The school’s Code of Conduct affects learners, teachers, other staff members and parents. It is thus vital that when a new policy is formulated, or an existing one is undergoing revision, this school community should be involved.

The Code of Conduct recognizes the rights and responsibilities of learners, teachers, principal and parents. Moreover, management of discipline in school is one of the key managerial responsibilities of the school principal.

The Disciplinary Committee

In order to manage school discipline smoothly, a school level disciplinary committee is formed at every campus of Al-Asr Schools.

For the sake of transparency, a senior staff member, in collaboration with the upper management, will be the in charge of the Disciplinary Committee.

Other members of the disciplinary committee would be selected through a broader consensus among teachers and the management.

The committee will normally comprise 2-3 members.

Principal would be a member of disciplinary committee by designation.

Disciplinary Committee chairperson shall present monthly report of activities at the end of every month in the staff meeting.

Discipline Expectations from Students

Students at Al-Asr Schools are expected to strictly follow the school’s code of conduct or discipline code. Any behavior which contravenes the Discipline Code will result in the form of corrective actions. Following are some examples of inappropriate behavior or misconduct; students are strictly advised to avoid them:

Bringing the school into disrepute or defame

Bringing dangerous weapons or harming items to school

Disrupting teaching and learning

Lack of courtesy and / or including cursing or use of bad language

Theft—to be involved in or an accomplice to an act of theft.

Truancy—Absence from a lesson or school without permission

Unsafe behavior—Behavior that has the potential to harm others or themselves

Vandalism including graffiti or writing on the walls

Defacement or damage of/to school property and/or private property belonging to other students and teachers.

Chewing gum at any time within the school premises.

Eating drinking in classrooms, assembly or at any place where it is not permitted.

Failure to follow instructions continuously

Late to class

Littering (throwing garbage outside the dustbins)

Inappropriate computer use

Bringing and using mobile phones

Non completion of classwork

Unprepared for class

Unruly behavior—disturbing the learning of other students

Note: Under no circumstances is corporal punishment permitted at the school nor does the school supports corporal punishment carried out beyond the school, including at the home.

Anti Bullying Policy

At Al-Asr such behavior is totally unacceptable. If you believe your child is in any way suffering from such actions, you should inform school immediately. We will listen carefully to any issues brought to us and act to stop any such behavior. We never underestimate the seriousness of bullying and the negative effects it can have.

Homework Policy

At Al-Asr Schools, homework is intended to encourage children to practice specific skills, to reinforce acquired knowledge, to encourage discovery of information that may stimulate or enhance work in school and to help children develop the skills and attitudes required for successful independent learning.

Homework is given to all students with a specific timetable provided to the parents at the start of each school term. A variety of ideas have been incorporated in homework policy in order to make it interesting and joyful activity for the students.

Security Policy

The school management is accountable for ensuring effective child protection policies and procedures are in place in accordance with guidance issued by the Government. A Safeguarding Children Report is provided annually by the Head teacher to all stakeholders.

Dress Code

To ensure the smooth running of our classes and to cause the least amount of stress (to all), we ask you to ensure that all your child’s items of clothing are labelled clearly.

Boys

Shirts	Plain long sleeved Navy Blue shirt with school logo. Must be worn in at all times for boys.
Pants	Grey dress pants must be worn. Casual grey pants or jeans are not allowed.
Blazers	Silver Grey sleeveless sweaters or Silver Grey long sleeved blazer with school logo. Must be worn over the school shirt.

Girls

Tunics	White color sleeves and Navy Blue Shirt with school logo must be worn.
Hijab	Plain white two-piece hijab.
Blazers	Silver Grey long sleeved blazer with school logo. Must be worn over the school shirt.
Undershirts	Must be plain white with no writing, slogans or colors.
Shoes	All-black dress shoes only, with plain black or white socks. Shoes must be made of leather or leather-like material and they cannot have logos or other colors. Sneakers, sandals, slippers, heels or any kind of casual shoe are not allowed.

The overall appearance of Al-Asr Schools students must be clean and respectful.

On non-uniform days, students are allowed to wear clothing of their choice keeping in mind that they must still abide by the Islamic dress code.

If a student is found not abiding by the uniform policy, then the office will contact the parents and a consequence may be assigned. Students must be in full uniform before they are allowed to attend classes. A student who is knowingly out of uniform for specific reasons is expected to inform the office or teacher before the start of the day to rectify the situation. Students who violate the uniform policy on a regular basis may be sent home and receive suspensions for subsequent violations.

Admission Criteria

At the Playgroup, Nursery and prep levels, an informal assessment based on the child´s age will be conducted. Generally, the reading ability of the child, vocabulary and recognition of words, concepts of colours and numbers used to asses. The confidence and appearance of the child is also taken into consideration —how the child sits, walks and talks.

At the Class I and Class II levels, a written test in English, Urdu and Mathematics are prerequisites. From class V, a written test in English, Urdu, Mathematics, and Science are mandatory.

Parent Teacher Meeting

The Parent Teacher Meeting is an important time to meet with your child’s teacher in a one to one sitting. Furthermore, it lets your child know that you care about their progress and their school. At Al-Asr Schools during the term prior to your child starting a new session, all parents are invited to a “PTA” Parents Teachers Meeting, where you and your child will have the opportunity to meet the teaching staff, share the successes of your child and ask any questions.

We are keen to share your children’s wonderful learning and offer you many opportunities throughout the year to view Home Learning challenges and take part in learning workshops alongside your children.

Celeberation of Learning

At the end of the school year, we invite children’s families into school to celebrate the learning they have done throughout the year and to have a tour of the school. This is also a great opportunity to meet your child’s new teacher!
