    The campus in charge holds primary responsibility for the ongoing development, implementation and assessment of Al-Asr school’s curriculum. As part of the administrative team, the campus in charge plays a central role in the success of the school. The campus in charge also works closely with the Director of his or her school and other duties assigned by head office.

    Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a relentless drive to improve the minds and lives of students in and out of school
  • Research, design, and/or supplement the academic curriculum for all subjects and grades based on successful models and approaches
  • Align the academic curriculum with state standards, Al-Asr Schools standards, and other scientifically-based benchmarks
  • Document and communicate scope and sequence for each grade level
  • Monitor grade-level progress against scope and sequence benchmarks
  • Participate in the design and implementation of systems to assess student achievement
  • Generate and manage standardized test and internal assessment schedules, logistics, and reporting
  • Evaluate, approve, and purchase curricular materials such as textbooks
  • Observe and coach Teachers daily
  • Train and orient staff members according to Al-Asr curricular systems and key pedagogical issues
  • Ensure access to and participation in high-quality internal and external professional development for staff
  • Help teachers to develop instructional strategies and intervention programs that elevate achievement among struggling students
  • Participate in staff recruitment

    Coordinator

    The Coordinator at Al-Asr Schools will work with the school’s Principal and Managing Director to ensure that all students demonstrate dramatic achievement gains and internalize the school’s values. This individual will also help lead the school’s efforts to create a positive, structured, consistent, caring, and disciplined school culture.

    Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

    Playgroup Teacher

    The Preschool teacher is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate preschool program in accordance with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures. The Preschool Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing a program to teach young children. They must ensure the development and safety of these children in accordance with. The Preschool Teacher will be respectful of children and parents, and ensure that equipment and facilities are clean, safe and well maintained. Failure to provide adequate services may place children at risk.

    Implement a developmentally appropriate preschool program for young children

    Environmental Conditions

    The Preschool Teacher may experience smells associated with toileting and children who are ill. There may be times that the environment is noisy and busy.

    Mental Demands

  • To plan and prepare lessons in order to deliver the Al-Asr’s Curriculum ensuring breadth and balance in all subjects.

    • Helping Teacher

    The Helping Teacher position provides a unique opportunity for talented individuals with limited or no teaching experience to explore the field of education and to gain hands-on practice and the training necessary to become a successful full-time classroom teacher. Helping Teachers will have an opportunity to observe best practices in classroom instruction and education reform from experienced teachers and school leaders. Depending on school needs and candidate background, Helping Teachers may also teach their own class of students. Helping Teachers will also assist with a variety of work inside and outside of the classroom, organizing student events, and developing mentoring relationships with students. By the end of the year, Helping Teachers will be very strong candidates for full-time teaching positions.

    Responsibilities

  • Teach classes on behalf of campus in charge and coordinator who are observing other teachers
  • Provide substitute teaching coverage for teachers within the school

    Administrator

    The Administrator plays a central role in ensuring an orderly, responsive, and open school. In addition to maintaining the school’s administrative systems and routines, the administrator functions as the primary contact person for all of the school’s constituents. As an Administrator, he must be able to communicate effectively with students, teachers, families, trustees and visitors.

    Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day to day activities of the school and serving as the main point of contact in the school reception area
  • Manage phones (answering calls, re-directing calls, taking messages, placing calls, creating school announcements, etc.)
  • Manage mail (distributing received mail, preparing school mailings, making mail drops, etc.)
  • Manage the collection and maintenance of student, personnel, and school information (receiving forms and paperwork, tracking missing forms, managing databases, updating contact information, keeping records current, etc.)
  • Manage school-wide daily systems (managing student attendance, tracking the student discipline system, etc.)
  • Help to plan and manage logistics and preparations for school events and activities as needed (making photocopies, setting up for special events, making phone calls to confirm attendance, etc.)
  • Help to organize staff meetings, staff retreats and annual evaluations
  • Greet and document all visitors (signing in visitors, ensuring that students only leave with authorized parents/guardians, monitoring and controlling access to the school, etc.)
  • Coordinate on-site components of school financial systems such as purchase orders, payroll records, grant reports, and financial forms

    The Receptionist functions as the initial contact person for students, teachers, families, vendors, and visitors, and must be able to communicate effectively with all groups. The Receptionist will also support the Office Manager with administrative tasks. The Receptionist reports to the Director, Principal and works from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Saturday.

    Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact in the school reception area
  • Greet and document all visitors (signing in visitors, ensuring that students only leave with authorized parents/guardians, monitoring and controlling access to the school, etc.)
  • Direct vendors to delivery locations or to Operations Leader
  • Manage phones (answering calls, re-directing calls, taking messages, placing calls, etc.)
  • Receive, track, and issue receipts for all incoming student fees
  • Manage the collection of student, personnel, and school information (receiving forms and paperwork, tracking missing forms, updating contact information, etc.)

    Under general direction, sets up and maintains accounting ledgers, journals, and records, and prepares financial statements and reports.

  • Prepare students fee vouchers, collection of fee, re-conciliation of Bank book and school record.
